Comms Officer

TaxAid & Tax Help for Older People

(July 2021 - Now)

Wanting to do work that ‘meant something’ I took this role at TaxAid. In my time here, I have created the charity’s first brand guidelines, working to bring marketing materials under this branding and message. I am currently working on the website update for the charity, nearing the end of this project. I have designed exhibition stands, leaflets, flyers, digital surveys, emails, newsletters, and social media posts.

The design work is done alongside the charities day to day marketing work. I enjoy this role, but I would look to leave for the right job, one that is solely focused on design.

Freelance Designer

Self Employed

(Jan 2019 - Jan 2022)

I went freelance to expand my design knowledge and to work with people directly. I marketed to find clients and then worked closely with them on their visual and design needs. From branding to website design, and all types of digital and printed graphic design work, I would speak with the client to find out their needs and take them from concept to product.

I loved the challenge of this work. I enjoyed meeting new people and forming relationships and friendships with my clients while working from home.

Marketing and Graphic Design

Polypipe Civils

(Nov 2018 - Mar 2019)

During my time here I designed leaflets, posters, and a 6ft wide exhibition stand, edited and recorded videos, site and event photography, retouched and enhanced photos, designed PowerPoint presentations, branded Excel spreadsheets, created email templates, and set up an automated email marketing campaign.

Marketing and Design

Price Engines & Parentshield

(Nov 2015 - Nov 2018)

I helped to launch several new websites, as well as helping to launch the new product and business Parentshield. I was involved in various branding and design projects, but also did B2B and B2C marketing for Price Engines and their affiliated brands.

PORTFOLIO

Illustration, branding and print design

ParentShield

I worked at Price Engines when ParentShield and engine mobile were set up and I later worked with them as a freelancer. I helped to choose the colours and the feel of the brand, designing exhibition posters, icons, social media adverts, banners, and a printed brochure.

Print design, brand colours, website

TaxAid and Tax Help

The first slides show the new website concept which is currently being built, next there is an example of some social media content. I have also included a poster that was designed for the University of Edinburgh’s tax clinic under their branding. I can provide more examples of work on request.

Website and re-branding

Eton Technologies

The rebranding and logo design was done to emphasise key traits of the business ‘transparency’, ‘teamwork’, and an element of ‘coolness and fun’. The Indian-based business wanted to appeal to clients in the UK and the US.

Website design

Various projects

Here are some various website design projects from when I worked as a freelancer. I have compiled these projects to show variety in the work I have done, but to put an emphasis on the composition, and hopefully show that they all conform to design principles despite being different.

Miscellaneous design

Various projects

I’ve taken on logo design projects, which range in design style. I’ve also worked with clients to produce stop-motion videos of their products, view the full-length stop-motion here. I also worked with a client who had created a ‘puppet’ character for their small business, I photoshopped him into business scenarios.

Thank you.
